Extend GHO Steward on Aave Prime Instance
01Summary
This proposal extends the GHO Aave Steward role to the GHO market on Aave's Prime instance on Ethereum, granting a newly deployed GhoAaveSteward contract RiskAdmin permissions to manage GHO borrowing rate parameters on the Prime pool.
- Type
- protocol addition
Key changes
- Deploy new GhoAaveSteward contract with Prime configuration and grant it RiskAdmin role in Aave V3 Ethereum Prime Pool(high)
- Configure BorrowRateConfig parameters with max change limits of 500 basis points for UOptimal, Base Variable Rate, Slope 1, and Slope 2(medium)
- Extend GHO steward management to Prime instance, aligning with existing implementation on Arbitrum(medium)

02Description
Simple Summary
This publication proposes extending the GHO Aave Steward to the GHO market on the Prime instance.
Motivation
In response to the expanding GHO ecosystem and following the upgrade of the GHO Stewards to a more modular approach at the end of 2024, this publication proposes extending the GHO Aave Steward role to the GHO Reserve on the Prime instance of Aave v3 on Ethereum.
Similar to how the GHO reserve on Arbitrum, which already has a GHO Aave Steward implementation, the role will be extended to the Prime instance of Aave v3.
Specification
A new GhoAaveSteward was deployed, with the Prime configuration:
Owner: 0x5300A1a15135EA4dc7aD5a167152C01EFc9b192A
Addresses Provider: 0xcfBf336fe147D643B9Cb705648500e101504B16d
Pool Data Provider: 0x08795CFE08C7a81dCDFf482BbAAF474B240f31cD
Gho Token: 0x40D16FC0246aD3160Ccc09B8D0D3A2cD28aE6C2f
Risk Council: 0x8513e6F37dBc52De87b166980Fa3F50639694B60
BorrowRateConfig:
- UOptimal Max Change: 500
- Base Variable Rate Max Change: 500
- Slope 1 Max Change: 500
- Slope 2 Max Change: 500
Then, the GhoAaveSteward is to be granted the following permissions: RiskAdmin in Aave V3 Ethereum Prime Pool

03Mismatch analysis
The proposal follows the standard Aave governance pattern: the on-chain action is a single execute() call to a dedicated payload contract, which internally performs the detailed steps (granting RiskAdmin to the newly deployed GhoAaveSteward) described in the prose. The decoded calldata here does not expose any internal calls or arguments beyond the fallback execute(), so there is no way to directly verify the specific addresses, config values, or the RiskAdmin grant against on-chain data from this decoding alone. However, this opacity is expected and typical for Aave payload-based proposals (the referenced GitHub implementation and test files corroborate the described logic), not a sign of tampering or mismatch. No numeric value mismatches, target mismatches, or omitted/extra actions can be identified because the single decoded action doesn't reveal granular parameters to compare against. Given the inability to cross-verify specifics, confidence is low, but there is no evidence of any discrepancy between the description and the visible calldata structure, so the overall assessment is consistent with low confidence rather than a flagged issue.
