executedOct 9, 2023, 08:17 AM UTCby320x329c…3ed4

01Summary

AISummary by Kvorumclaude-haiku-4-5

This proposal continues TUSD offboarding from Aave V2 by implementing final-stage risk parameters to incentivize borrower repayment and liquidity withdrawal. Key changes include reducing Liquidation Threshold from 75% to 65%, dramatically increasing Base Rate from 0% to 100%, and raising Reserve Factor from 95% to 99.9%. The proposal also authorizes withdrawal of aTUSD and aBUSD from Aave treasury to further reduce available liquidity and pressure remaining borrowers.

Type
parameter change

Key changes

  • Liquidation Threshold reduced from 75% to 65% to accelerate liquidations and encourage repayment(high)
  • Base Rate increased from 0% to 100% to create steep borrowing costs(high)
  • Slope 1 increased from 10% to 70% to sharply increase interest rates at lower utilization(high)
  • Slope 2 increased from 200% to 300% to further escalate interest rates at high utilization(high)
  • Reserve Factor increased from 95% to 99.9% to reduce borrower returns(medium)
  • uOptimal reduced from 20% to 1% to make optimal utilization very low(medium)
  • Withdrawal of aTUSD and aBUSD treasury holdings from Aave V2 to reduce available liquidity(high)
  • Authorization for ACI to publish regular mechanical AIPs for aToken withdrawals(medium)

Notable concerns

  • The aggressive parameter changes are designed to create pressure on borrowers through liquidations and high interest rates, which may cause rapid market disruption
  • Reduced available liquidity may force forced exits for remaining borrowers
  • The proposal intentionally maintains low liquidity pressure to accelerate HF (health factor) decay and liquidations

Simple Summary

This AIP proposes the continuation of the TUSD offboarding plan from Aave V2 by adjusting its risk parameters, mirroring the approach taken in the "[ARFC] BUSD Offboarding Plan Part III".

Motivation

This proposal is a continuation of stablecoins offboarding of the Aave V2 market. TUSD is proposed to adopt the "final stage" offboarding parameters to incentivize repayment and withdrawal of liquidity in Aave V2 Pool

aBUSD will be withdrawn and converted to BUSD.

This ARFC also aims to authorize the ACI to publish regularly "withdraw aToken" mechanical AIPs that have low governance value. Part of the success of these offboarding plans relies on maintaining the available liquidity low, adding pressure on borrowers, and incentivizing repayment or, if there's a lack of reaction, accelerating HF decay to create liquidations.

Specification

The risk parameters for TUSD on Aave V2 will be adjusted as follows:

ParameterPrevious ValueNew Value
Loan-to-Value (LTV)0%0%
Liquidation Threshold (LT)75%65%
Liquidation Bonus10%10%
Reserve Factor95%99.9%
uOptimal20%1%
Base Rate0%100%
Slope 110%70%
Slope 2200%300%

Both aTUSD & aBUSD Aave treasury available treasury will be withdrawn from Aave V2 pool. this is meant to reduce available liquidity for these reserve and increase pressure of remaining borrowers.
